I have been using spreadsheets for around 25 years. I started with Lotus 1-2-3 for DOS, helping my dad work up insurance spreadsheets after school. But the majority of my spreadsheet experience has come from using Excel—from Excel 4.0 in the early 1990s to my present-day Excel 2010 install.
I've used Excel for relatively hardcore analytics. But the majority of my use of the tool has focused on solving business problems and supporting business functions. From planning to risk and issue management; from running scenarios to visualising data.
Excel is the most powerful and functionally rich tool on most people's computers. Yet most people are either afraid of it or unsure how to unlock its power. This site is here to help people to understand the tool, to offer people advice.
As well as providing information on the site, I also offer consultancy and training services. Feel free to get in touch: dan@wizardofexcel.com.
Happy spreadsheeting.
