Paddington Bear to be Screened with The King’s Coronation

Excitement is building in the Keighley Town Council offices as the final touches are made to what will be a very special event.

👑 Not only will the people of Keighley be able to watch the coronation live on a big screen, but the Queen's favourite bear from deepest, darkest Peru will also be screened.

There'll be a BIG LUNCH street party with flags and bunting where you can bring your own picnic and enjoy all the entertainment too, much of it for free! 👏

👉 We're encouraging everyone to get dressed up as kings and queens or your favourite literary character. Could it become a Mad Hatter's tea party?

On Sunday 7 May, from 11.30 to 3 pm, Heslington Main St will be set out with tables and chairs for people to sit and enjoy their picnic lunches. There will also be BBQ food on sale at the Deramore Arms. There is a cake stall and everyone is invited to bring a cake or pudding to share with others. There will also be a plant swap stall for gardeners to bring along their cuttings and excess fruit and veg seedlings so that they can be given good homes. Exciting music be provided by The New York Brass Band and the children from Lord Deramore's primary school will sing and play instruments.

All members of the community are invited to come along with their picnics to join our free, fun afternoon to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III.
There will be free entertainment in the form of a skate jam, circus skills and fairground rides.
There will also be 2 live bands performing, with a community sing-along in between.
Food stalls will be present for those who don't want to bring their own picnic, including pizza, burgers, Indian bites, ice cream, crepes, doughnuts and candyfloss. There will also be a beer and Pimms tent.
The event will end at 7pm.
There is no parking available on site, all attendees are strongly encouraged to walk.

Everybody is invited to bring their own picnic and join in for the Big Coronation Lunch from 12pm. Nottingham Concert Band will delight residents with their range of popular music, while children will be entertained by Ruddington Fun creator (Barbara Breakwell) and the Scouts.
