Land of Oak & Iron are proud to be joining in with the nation’s celebrations – and we invite you to come along for The Coronation Big Lunch at the Heritage Centre on Saturday 6th May.

We will have live music, fun traditional games for you to use such as tug-of-war, sack racing, egg and spoon and more. Children can also take part in Royal themed crafts, colouring-in and puzzle pages, along with giant outdoor games to enjoy!

Our café will have a great menu with Coronation specials to choose from to eat inside or out in our Courtyard at our ‘street party’ styled tables and seating under the red, white and blue bunting. There will be tasty picnic options and kid’s lunch boxes to enjoy.

Scoops n Smiles will be here in their traditional, vintage ice-cream van too!

No need to book, just turn up and enjoy the food, fun and friendship – the perfect opportunity to bring people together to celebrate His Majesty The King’s Coronation!

Warwickshire Country Parks and greenways will be open across the county with free car parking available for the whole Coronation Weekend. At Kingsbury Water Park and Ryton Pools Country Park, families will be able to enjoy Royal-themed trails where children can search for clues, and participants who complete the trail will be entered into a prize draw to win a toy swan. The remaining Country Parks and Greenways will be hosting self-led Coronation trails where children can search for white pebbles that will have small crowns printed on them.

Kingsbury Water Park will be offering circus-style entertainment for people of all ages, including face painting, circus skills workshops, and magicians, as well as a British market with stallholders selling locally produced goods and artisan products. If you don't fancy bringing your own picnic, there will also be a variety of food concession stands selling burgers, ice-cream and more, in addition to the onsite café being open and steam train rides operating as normal.

The ranger team look forward to welcoming you for a weekend of celebrations and outdoor fun!

We are hosting a pot luck lunch in our Kirk Centre following a Service of Celebration in Church.
People are invited to take part by coming along and bringing some food with them to share. We ask people if they bringing food to let us know what and how much. Those not able to bring anything are asked for a donation of £5 to help cover costs.
There will be entertainment.
All are welcome and we invite anyone from the community to come along.

We can't promise good weather, so if it's wet, the event will be held in Wem Methodist Church Hall which is opposite the Millennium Green.

We are a small voluntary community group and aim to raise funds to improve facilities for all those living in our lovely village in south Wiltshire. Our Big Lunch forms part of this. We are inviting those living in the village to bring a picnic and join in the fun being organised in our recreation field. We will have large marquee serving beautiful hand made cakes and tea. There will be a selection of stalls and games for the children including a children's crown decorating competition. In the evening our local pub, the Barford Inn, will continue the celebrations with live music and a BBQ

Come and join in the celebrations for the King’s Coronation on Sunday 7 May, with our own Big Lunch in the grounds of St Richard’s School.

Bring a picnic : plate of food to share (suggestion, even numbered houses, savoury and odd numbered, a dessert) and any particular drink you want. Soft drinks, tea and coffee provided.

There’ll be fun and games too with prizes for the Best Dressed Monarch and Best Home Made Crown, activities for all and maybe more than one King for the Day.

Gates open at 12.30 and Lunch from 1.00 pm.
