How can I stop this stuff from taking over my life?

I’d like to use Twitter, but don’t have the time. Any tools you’d recommend?
Try a dashboard-style Twitter client like TweetDeck, that shows you different types of Tweets in columns, so you can easily switch between, say:
- Tweets from everyone you’re following
- Just people who’ve replied to or mentioned you
- People from a particular ‘list’ you’ve defined
- People who’ve mentioned a particular keyword or hashtag you’re monitoring
Ultimately, the thing about Twitter, and all social media really, is that it’s more like the weather forecast than your email inbox. You don’t have to follow it all, especially if you’re busy, and it’s fine to dip in and out.
