Work collaboratively on projects online

Some projects demand strict security and firewalls… but lots don’t. Increasingly, there are low-cost platforms that make it possible to share files and work together on projects with people inside and outside the organisation. There are online document and spreadsheet services like Google Docs that make collective drafting easier; project management services like Basecamp or Huddle that keep everyone up to date; through to public-facing tools such as wikis or community sites to get groups sharing knowledge and coming up with solutions in the open.
