Scottish site designed to engage those with an interest in education policy in online discussion about its future:
Engage for Education is a ground breaking online public participation project to enable people across Scotland’s education community to engage directly with the Scottish Government about the issues important to them.
As well as offering the exclusive chance to read and comment on Ministerial blogs and a range of guest opinions, this site plays host to interactive workshops for a wide audience including parents, teachers, learners of all ages and educational professionals.
The website gathers feedback to allow the Government to respond directly to needs and views of the wider education community at all levels. Open participation is encouraged through comments to blogs and contributions to workshops and the focus is on listening and acting:
– Participants will have the chance to influence and inform the decisions of the Scottish Government in key areas of education policy.
– The Scottish Government will provide quick responses to questions, including answers directly from Education Secretary, Michael Russell.
– Engage for Education will also link in to Glow and popular social media channels, providing a place to leave comments and ideas.
– The site will include blogs from the three education Ministers, as well as regular guest bloggers, to share views about current issues and trends. The Engage platform also provides an education specific news blog and links section, exclusive video and picture gallery and live social media updates from a range of education events.
