The garden party will be open to all residents of Manor Park to enjoy and celebrate the King's Coronation. The party will consist of a fancy dress competition, a cake decorating competition, live entertainment, finger food with cold drinks, face painting, crown making and the residents will enjoy giant garden games.

Home Instead, a leading provider of home care services for seniors, is taking a lead role in the upcoming community event to celebrate the King's Coronation.

As a community-focused organisation, Home Instead recognises the importance of bringing different generations together to celebrate historical moments like the King's Coronation.

We are excited to announce that the free-to-attend community event to celebrate the King's Coronation will take place on Sunday, 7th May at the Egham Literary Institute.

Following the resounding success of the event of the same format for the Queen's jubilee last year, the feedback from attendees as they left was overwhelmingly positive. Many asked when the next event would be. The success of the Queen's jubilee event has inspired us to organise another community event to celebrate the King's Coronation.

We are excited to continue the tradition of bringing different generations together to celebrate historical moments, and we hope that this event will be just as successful as the previous one.

With the combined efforts and time from Home Instead, the Egham Museum, The Literary Institute, and the Royal Holloway University of London volunteers programme for the planning, organisation and staffing of the event, the event is free to attend, making it accessible, inclusive and engaging for all members of the community.

The high tea and tea dance will be the highlight of the event, with attendees having the opportunity to learn traditional tea dances and dress to impress in vintage style for the best-dressed competition.
The Egham Museum will also be showcasing historical memorabilia related to the coronation, giving attendees a chance to learn more about the history of the event.

There will be two separate seating's to accommodate everyone and ensure that no one is disappointed.
The first seating will take place from 1pm-2.30pm, and the second seating will take place from 3pm-4.30pm.

The collaboration between these organisations is a shining example of how different community stakeholders can come together to create an inclusive and engaging event for all members of the community.

You are invited to join the Friends of St Nicholas for a Coronation Picnic at Newcastle Cathedral as part of the nationwide ÔBig LunchÕ initiative. This will take place on the Eastern Terrace (or in the Eastern Chapels in the event of inclement weather!). Bring your picnics, rugs and chairs for a right royal celebration.

Spaces are limited on the terrace, so please get in touch with Lesley Lee, Secretary of the Friends, to secure your place. You can come straight after the ÔService of Thanksgiving for the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles IIIÕ (which starts at 2pm). If youÕre not attending the service, please arrive from 3pm, following the signs to the Terrace.

A Coronation picnic box (£6, including a sandwich, crisps, a piece of traybake and a drink) can be pre-ordered via Cafe 16.

Bring a picnic and something to sit on under the trees in the church yard at St Mary’s. You can enjoy live music from the City Brass Band and the Pompey Pluckers ,family friendly performances from Black Hat Theatricals and craft making with Splodge Designs all provided free by Fratton Big Local.
Hot drinks and other refreshments will also be on sale.
The event will run from 12.00 noon- 3.00pm after which St Mary’s will be running a service to celibate the coronation of King Charles III.

Locals will know that the Village Market takes place on Babington Plaza on the First Saturday of the month for the Coronation we are inviting residents to hang around and enjoy their lunch on Streatham Green. It will be a great chance to meet your neighbours. Bring a packed lunch or take away from one of the great local eateries.

Kids crafts and activities will be on offer as well as large lawn games music and of course all our great market traders.

Craven Arms are holding a big picnic, with live music from local bands and singing groups performing all afternoon. A jam packed afternoon of children’s activities including sports day races, a crown parade, story time and lots more.
