This Toolkit is aimed at all those involved in developing and maintaining Maternity Voices Partnerships (MVPs). This includes staff from maternity commissioner and service provider organisations, MVP chairs and vice-chairs, Local Maternity System (LMS) staff and any organisation commissioned to provide support for an MVP.
This Toolkit summarises existing guidance on MVPs, brings together resources that you may find helpful and sets out some options for developing and maintaining effective MVPs. There are some principles for establishing MVPs that existing NHS guidance makes clear should be applied in all parts of England. Where this is the case, we will refer to the relevant source. In all other cases, the content of this Toolkit is not prescriptive.
Write LMS in full if you haven’t already with abbreviation in brackets

Thank you Pauline. I have updated the draft text to spell out LMS as you suggest.
The LMS has become the LMNS to include neonatal services.

Thanks Jo. Yes, some LMSs have made this change. For the purposes of this toolkit, I think we should stick with LMS as this is the current term used by NHS England and Improvement. This can be reviewed if the national terminology changes in the future.
