To celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III, Woburn Sands will hold one big street party on Sunday 7th May in the High Street. A free event for all, the community are encouraged to bring food & drink to share in a lunch with neighbours and friends with the sounds of Miss Lily Lovejoy and the Woburn Sands Band taking you through a musical medley from the last Kings Coronation in 1937 to the present King in 2023.
The Highlight of the day will be The Lancaster Bomber flypast by the BBMF at approx 1.35pm.
Tea & soft drinks will be available to purchase with a percentage going to local charities and served by the WVS ladies from The Jambusters events and volunteers.

We are a small village community with approx 95 households. We have met with villagers and the consensus is that we will have drinks & nibbles on the evening if The Coronation & live stream the televised concert in our village hall. The next day (Sunday) we will hold our ‘Fit for a King’ lunch between 12.30 -4p.m. We will provide a Hog Roast (if sourceable), large ham & Coronation Chicken + vegetarian options. Villagers will bring various salads & a pudding and these will all be pooled to create a buffet lunch. We hope, through fundraising a quiz night, we will be able to provide meats free if charge. This will be ticketed so the management committee know how many to cater for in advance of the lunch. We have asked a local Baker to provide a bread sceptre & crown and a celebration cake which will be cut at the end of the lunch for people to take home & distribute to those who can’t attend.
We would appreciate any bunting, tableware etc that you can give us which would save us having to buy these when funds are so tight.
