Nicholas Falk launches proposals for a Municipal Investment Corporation

On June 4th at the TCPA, Nicholas launched his Smith Institute pamphlet at the TCPA. He proposes a Municipal Investment Corporation to channel pension fund and other patient money into the infrastructure that new settlements require. Infrastructure bonds will enable private wealth to be invested in building new homes, not just buying existing ones. The pamphlet draws on case studies of state investment banks in France, Germany and the Netherlands. It includes an analysis of the barriers to doubling housing output and providing the sustainable energy and transport capacity the UK badly needs.
