The Department for Education has commissioned a series of learning materials for teachers from sector experts, to create an opportunity for children to learn about the historical significance of the Coronation.
The learning materials include a range of engaging activities and resources for both primary and secondary schools. Through the resources, teachers will be able to engage children in the background and context of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort’s Coronation and teach them about the key figures and items that play a crucial part in the ceremony.
The primary school resources include:
- a PowerPoint lesson plan
- detailed notes for teachers
- adaptable activities for different year groups
The secondary school resources, created by Robert Peal, include:
- a starter quiz
- factsheet
- worksheets
