Hosted by His Majesty’s Sheriff of York at the Grand Assembly Rooms, this promises to be a fitting royal celebration to mark the King’s Coronation and formal accession to the Throne.

Built in 1730 by Lord Burlington as the hottest venue in Georgian Yorkshire, the Assembly Rooms is the perfect location for this auspicious occasion, having previously played host to the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation Ball in 1953.

Enjoy a sparkling wine reception under the glittering chandeliers, before taking your seat at the banqueting table for a wonderful 3 course dinner.

After we have sung the national anthem and toasted ‘The King’, you can relax in the many decadent spaces this majestic building has to offer, or dance the night away to the 20-piece Big Band 106.

Our Chief Guest will be His Majesty’s Vice Lord-Lieutenant Chris Legard Esq. DL of Scampston Hall.

Carriages at 11pm.

Dress to impress, Black Tie and Ball Gowns. Decorations and badges of offices may be worn.

During dinner a raffle will take place in aid of the Sheriff’s cost-of-living appeal.

A full bar is available. Table wine may be purchased on the evening.
