World Textile Day will be in King’s Sutton Memorial Hall again on Saturday May 6th from 10 am to 4 pm. As you may have noticed this is also the date of the Coronation so there will be a special “Royal” theme to the day.

For those interested, we aim to make the televised Coronation available at the Hall throughout the Day. And we will arrange our talks so that we don’t clash with the actual Coronation event. We are also planning a very special exhibition of textiles from around the world with a Royal theme. In the afternoon, the traders will all be bringing their favourite Coronation themed textiles to a Show and Tell session. You are all invited to bring any “Royal” textiles along to join in too.
In the morning Susan Briscoe a well known author and Japanese textiles expert will be showing some stunning kimonos and costumes with an Imperial royal connection. Entry to the talk is £5 and available on the day.

The Memorial Hall in King’s Sutton has very easy access (including disabled) with free parking and it’s also easily accessible by direct train from London, Birmingham and Oxford. As ever the wonderful Adele and Beryl will provide the catering.

Organisers Diane and Magie said “As always our shows are free to enter and we will have an array of wonderful textiles from many parts of Europe, Asia and Africa for sale. Come and enjoy this very special small show with textile experts on hand to answer any questions you may have and to tempt you with a fantastic market place of clothes, textiles, fabrics, tools, beads and much more. World Textile Days are a great place to meet up with your fabric loving friends”
