The Western Isles Lieutenancy covers the whole of the island chain from Lewis t o Barra. There are events scheduled throughout the islands to ensure the coronation is widely celebrated over the course of the weekend and beyond.
In Barra the Union Jack will be raised at Castlebay school on Friday at 6pm. A series of pipe tunes will be played by the young island pipers before the flag is raised and the Vice Lord Lieutenant will read the message from His Majesty to the assembled audience.
