The London Borough of Barking and Dagenham are looking forward to celebrating the Coronation of His Majesty The King and Her Majesty The Queen Consort which takes place on 6 May 2023.
To mark the occasion, we are holding the Summer of Festivals Weekender on 6 and 7 May, which will include our very own Coronation Day event on the Saturday, and our popular One Borough Festival on the Sunday. Both events will be held at Valence Park, Dagenham, near the grounds of the iconic Valence House.
The council is proud to host this monumental occasion, which will bring the community together to celebrate in true British fashion. The Coronation Day event will kick off with the screening of the Coronation, setting the perfect celebratory atmosphere for the day ahead.
We have an exceptional line-up of entertainment planned for the event, including live music, dance performances, and exciting activities for all the family. Then on the Sunday, join us as we bring you elements of our popular Steam and Cider Fair and Roundhouse Music Festival – there will be classic cars, tribute acts, free family entertainment and of course, cider. A range of food and drink stalls will also be available on both days, offering delicious treats and refreshments for all attendees.
Entry is free for everyone and no tickets are required.
Event times on Saturday 6 May are 11am to 5pm and on Sunday 7 May 1pm to 7pm.
