The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III will take place on Saturday 6 May. Witness history taking place in Stockton High Street, as we celebrate in style with Stockton’s Coronation Big Lunch. Join us on Stockton High Street on Saturday 6 May between 10am – 4pm for a jam packed programme of free entertainment for the whole family, including street theatre and music throughout the day, participatory workshops and activities, facepainting and balloon modelling, and a free Victorian Fair! The monumental ceremony will be live-streamed on a big screen in the town centre, and local food traders will be providing their tasty good throughout the day. The High Street will host a dancefloor, animated by various dance workshops, including a ‘Best of British’ danceathon with Urban Kaos and a Tea Dance, culminating in a live music performance to round off the day by Teesside favourite The Wildcats of Kilkenny!
Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council is also supporting residents of the Borough to plan their own street parties over the bank holiday weekend. There is also an opportunity to get involved with our digital programme from home/ There are a range of Coronation activities to do in our downloadable activity pack and Coronation videos including, flag-making crafts with artist Adele Catchpole, to baking Eton Mess Teacup Cheesecakes with Tasty Tarts and a Coronation Curry by Sprouts community charity.
