Now in its thirty-ninth year HIBISCUS CARIBBEAN ELDERLY ASSOCIATION (HCEA) is a Membership organisation that delivers services which reflects the heritage of its membership: the mores and norms of African and Caribbean societies expressed through social care art music dance diet and social activities designed to stimulate and encourage social contact whilst keeping Members physically and mentally active in a warm and safe environment. HCEA manages Hibiscus Community Centre from where it’s culturally based art dance and music services are extended to all age groups. Showcase for a King Celebrating the Coronation of King Charles 111 is an event showcasing Afro-British art music dance comedy poetry and food. Scheduled for Sunday 7 May through to Monday 8 May 2023, the event will be delivered in two parts. Part 1 the Family Fun Day 12.00pm – 5.00pm Sunday 7 May is a FREE event for all the family and will include Afro-British culinary delights, music activities and treats for children. Part 2 The King’s Showcase a paid event £10.00 per ticket, 9.00pm Sunday 7 May to – 3.00am Monday 8 May is a gala performance from musicians and artist from across the spectrum of contemporary Afro-British music and spoken word, alongside culinary delights.
