The Melbourne Racing Club would like to name one of its main horse races on the 6 May 2023, the King’s Coronation Cup to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III. The King’s Coronation Cup will be one of the main races in metropolitan Melbourne on 6 May and follow a Melbourne Racing Club tradition on naming a race in honour of the coronation of a monarch which the Club last did for Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
