On Sunday 7 May are closing Compstall Road, the main street in Romiley, for a big free party for the whole community. We have a dual theme: Coronation Street and the Coronation – dress as your favourite royal or Corrie character. There will be prizes for the best costumes.
The road will be closed between Guywood Lane and Central Drive from noon on Sunday until 5pm. Buses and lorries will be diverted. The party runs from 1pm-4pm. We will provide the tables. Bring your own chairs. Pack a picnic or pick up food and drink from the local cafes and bars.
Entertainment from NK Theatre Arts, a dog show (do you have the most regal pup?!), a children’s crown-making table from Romiley WI, a seed planting table from Sustainable Living Romiley, Bat The Rat and more.
