Purbanat, a Birmingham-based arts organisation, started its journey in 2014 as a theatre group. From the very beginning, Purbanat was working to establish itself as a creative home for new writers, performers, designers, and other art practitioners. Over the years, Purbanat extended its activities to other areas of arts and creative activities. Purbanat identifies and engages its targeted communities by responding to the issues that affect the communities using arts and creative activities as tools. In 2022, Purbanat was awarded the ‘Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service’, as a recognition of its commitment to the community.
To celebrate the coronation of HM the King, Purbanat is organising a street party in an outdoor community space in Small Heath, Birmingham. There will be food, face painting, music, dance etc. We are inviting food vendors and arts organisations from different ethnic communities to join us in celebrating this wonderful occasion.
