Coronation Picnic on Saturday 6th May from 12noon onwards
Local Motcombe mums, Fran and Gemma will be hosting a chilled out Coronation Picnic on the Motcombe Memorial Hall recreation ground … all super welcome, just bring a picnic, a rug and all the children!
Fran’s a qualified Sommelière and has been saving up a special, magnum-sized bottle of Whispering Angel Cotes de Provence Rosé for precisely this occasion, to share among friends.
Provence-style Whispering Angel claims to be ‘the best-selling rosé in the world’ … produced by Château d’Esclans, the wine has gained a huge fan base thanks to its refreshing, crisp acidity and its easygoing nature. It’s a blend of red berry-rich Grenache and Rolle (also known as Vermentino) and pairs effortlessly with smoked salmon, prawns, goats cheese salad and fresh strawberries so it’s the perfect picnic wine. Fran says she’ll be bringing along a selection of fun food pairings for everyone to try.
The children of all ages will be bringing ball games, there is also a recently refurbished playground and basketball hoop and we’re all massively hoping for sunny weather, to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.
