The Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III alongside The Queen Consort takes place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6th May.
An historic and momentous event you are invited to join us with your friends and family at The Lost Gardens of Heligan to celebrate this joyous occasion in the wonderful surroundings of the Lost Gardens.
The Ceremony will be streamed live on a 3.4m outdoor screen at the Steward’s House lawn and BBQ, with additional screens to watch the proceedings in Heligan Kitchen and Steward’s House.
After the ceremony we will be joined by Les Femmes de la Mer. An inspirational group of singers from cross Cornwall, from Tregony to Helston on the South Coast, and Porthtowan and Mount Hawke on the North Coast. The group includes film makers, teachers, actors, carpenters, photographers, carers, jam makers, farmers, artists, writers, musicians, nurses, herbalists, activists, potters, mothers, sisters and daughters.
As well as traditional shanties such as Blood Red Roses and Haul Away Joe, the Femmes sing original songs telling the stories of three Cornish women which have been co-written by the group’s Musical Director, Claire Ingleheart.
Our chefs have prepared a special menu to celebrate the event, with themes from across The Commonwealth:
Heligan Kitchen 9-5 – Britain, Canada, Africa, Eastern
Stewards House 10-4 Best of British – picnic items such as quiche, coronation chicken sandwiches, scotch eggs, Cornish pasties, ice cream tubs, traditional cakes like Victoria Sponge, cream teas
BBQ 12-3 Australia and South Africa – seafood, biltong
East Lawn 11-4 ice cream and kids cakes
Takeaway 10-5 traditional sandwiches, crisps, cakes, ice cream / snacks to take into The Gardens
Pimms, G&T and Prosecco to be sold throughout
We welcome you to celebrate this wonderful occasion with the Heligan Family.
Tickets are £5 per person, children under 16 are free. Garden admission is not included in the price.
