The village church of St James the Great, Birlingham, will dedicate its new floodlighting of its tower to mark the coronation by switching it on for the first time to coincide with “Lighting Up The Nation” during the concert on May 7th. (This new lighting is significantly better for the environment than the lights it replaces and operates at a colour temperature that does not interfere with bats; it produces a muted but attractive light in keeping with a rural village.)
