Join us for the King’s Coronation Park Party
To celebrate the King’s Coronation, Hanley Park will be throwing a party for the ages on Monday 8 May.
Festivities start at 11 am, with various performances and activities going on until 3 pm.
Here’s everything going on, on-the-day –
The live music starts with Rosie Edward performing indie and classic rock from the 60’s to present day.
Cherry Groove, a band of experienced and professional musicians will be performing hits through the decades on the bandstand.
The fabulous Brown Sugar Duo will be performing a set-list with classics from Etta James, Frank Sinatra, Chris Stapleton, The Beatles, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder.
Wartime Duo ‘The Sweethearts’ will close the show with songs made famous by the Andrew Sisters and other war-time performers such as Vera Lynn and Anne Shelton.
Circus in a Box will be coming along with their King and Queen stilt walkers, Bubble Princess and Medieval Jester.
Performers from Stoke Amateur Theatre Society will be promoting their next production; with characters from Wonderful Dreams available for photos with visitors.
Magical Mayhem will have circus workshops and magic shows for visitors.
There will be children’s craft activities such as crown coaster decorating, making nature crowns and Coronation colouring also throughout the day.
