In Gartocharn we are holding a village and community event at the Millennium Hall in Church Road and in the adjoining garden, on Sunday 7th May from 12.30 to 4.00 pm approx, following much the same pattern as our highly successful event last June for the Platinum Jubilee.
Church Road will be alive with Union Flags, and the Hall itself with flags and bunting. Pork rolls, beef burgers and hot dogs will be available plus coffees, teas, cakes etc. The bar will be open and an ice-cream van in attendance. A folk group will be playing music, and a piper will play at intervals. There will be games, races and bouncy castles for the children, and a tombola, plus perhaps other stalls, will be in operation. Local DL will propose a toast to the King followed by three cheers for the King and Queen. If weather permits, much of this will be held outdoors, and we will have a small marquee and the odd gazebo.
From the experience of the 2022 Jubilee event we are expecting some 300 to 400 to attend,
