On 6th May 2023 at 12 noon Leek Town Crier will be reading the Proclamation of the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III at Sparrow Park, Derby Street Leek ST13 6JL.
On Sunday 7th May 2023, Leek Town Council Events Committee are hosting a Children’s Coronation Activity Day at the Trestle Market (adjacent to the Market St / Silk Street Car Parks) from 11am – 3pm on Sunday 7th May 2023. There will be storytelling by Leek Storytellers and Leek Library and a bean bag chill out zone, Coronation crafts, balloon modeling, fancy dress (optional) and we are having a visit from special guests, Leek Town Mayor, Leek Carnival Queen and her attendants, plus our wonderful Leek Town Crier will be there to welcome everyone. The crowning of Leek Carnival Queen will be at 12 noon. At the same time Leeks Historic Market Square will be packed with Totally Locally market stalls and The Butter Market is also open adjacent to the trestle market with all your local Leek traders. The event is free of charge and booking is not necessary.
