On Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May 2023, 10.00-17.00, we will be offering the following activities at Locomotion, to celebrate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III:
Self-led craft activities – Make your own bunting, make your own crown & themed colouring-in.
Photo display – A selection of photos from inside our Royal Train, taken by a member of our youth team, James, during his work experience week with our explainer team.
Exhibition reflecting the long association between the Royal Family and the museum.
Featuring:
The opening of Timothy Hackworth Museum, Shildon, in 1975, by Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother.
Visit of Prince Charles and Princess of Wales to the National Railway Museum in York in 1981.
The reopening of Station Hall at the National Railway Museum York in 2013 by Prince Charles.
