St John’s Episcopal Church, in Dumfries, will hold a special Choral Evensong service to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III on Sunday 7th May 2023 at 6pm, in St John’s Church, Newall Terrace, Dumfries DG1 1LW, sung by the choir of St John’s Church, Dumfries, in the presence of His Majesty’s Lord Lieutenant of Dumfries, Fiona Armstrong, Lady MacGregor. Everyone is very welcome to attend. The choir will sing a selection of music to celebrate the King’s Coronation which will include: Handel’s Coronation Anthem ‘The King Shall Rejoice’, Stanford’s Canticles Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis in B Flat, with Preces and Responses by Radcliffe, along with Hymns, Psalm, and prayers for the King.
