Blyth Town Council are putting plans in place to provide a celebratory day of fun and excitement for the entire community to mark the King’s Coronation. The event at Ridley Park on Sunday, 7th May will feature community groups, music, and fun activities for all the family.
The event will feature a fantastic line up of activities and entertainment for all ages.
The park will be teeming with members of the Army, Army Cadet, Royal British Legion, Mini Police Cadets, Coastguard, and the RNLI, all coming together to showcase the groups that operate in and around Blyth.
There will be drills and information posts, as well as a climbing wall, ensuring that there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The day will also be packed with live music and entertainment, including performances by the Shanty Singers, Community Voices, and Professor Graeme Danby, the world-renowned opera singer who will bring a mixture of classical and traditional songs to the park. Graeme is no stranger to playing Ridley Park and despite performances all over the world, he always enjoys playing on “home ground.”
Additionally, visitors can take part in street theatre and face painting and there will be a selection of food traders.
There will also be a craft market outside Mr Ridley’s Cafe from 10am.
