We are a community association and our purpose is to promote the wellbeing of the community and inhabitants of the parish of Stenness to develop, support and promote educational, cultural, social and other leisure and recreational activities to the mutual benefit of the community.
We do this through the operation of a community centre and associated facilities for activities aimed at fostering a community spirit and improved quality of life for residents.
We are holding a Community event on Sunday 7th May from 2-4pm at the Stenness Hall. This includes tea and coffee, homebakes, activities and a live performance from the Stromness Royal British Legion Pipe Band. A time for the whole community to get together and enjoy the event.
Over the long weekend, we are hosting a “All Things Royal- King’s Coronation Stenness Scarecrow Competition”. We are asking locals in the parish to have their royal themed scarecrows in their garden from Friday 5th to Tuesday 9th May. People are asked to build a scarecrow, take a photo and send it to our Facebook page or email. There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd!
