SATURDAY 6th May:
Morning: Live streaming of the coronation on the big screen in St Andrew’s Parish Church with refreshments. The church will be open all day.
Evening: 6pm – 10pm ‘Coronation Party in the Park’ at The Peace Memorial Playing Fields. Live music from ‘Mojo Stone Cold Players’, bouncy castle, face-painting, BBQ and bar.
SUNDAY 7th MAY:
Morning: 10am Civic Service at St Andrew’s Parish Church.
Afternoon: 12:30pm – 3pm Street Party on Church Street (Town Hall if raining) with DJ. Bring your own picnic and cakes to share. Winners of the Coronation Shop Window Competition announced.
A Coronation Exhibition by the schoolchildren of Colyton Primary Academy will be on show all weekend in either Colyton Town Hall or St Andrew’s Parish Church.
MONDAY 8th May:
Morning: Bacon baps with tea or coffee in the Town Hall in aid of local charitiies.
FRIDAY & SATURDAY 19th & 20th MAY:
‘A Festival of the Environment’ celebrating all the rich habitats of the Parish of Colyton, with demos, talks and refreshments in the Town Hall in honour of our newly crowned ‘Green King’.
Other activities, such as traditional sports, e.g. egg & spoon, sack and three-legged races, are still in the planning stages.
