Romford BID is excited to announce that it will be holding a Big Tea Party event on Saturday 6th May to celebrate the King’s Coronation. The event will be free to all and will include a variety of live music, free children’s entertainment, games, dancing and more.
Coverage of the King’s Coronation will be showing outside Tollgate House from 10.30am on a specially installed large screen. There will also be picnic tables and deckchairs that visitors can use as they watch the celebrations.
Romford BID has also arranged for some spectacular live music to play including Miss Jones Trio and Mark Walker Sings Swing. Miss Jones will be performing blues-infused singing and guitar playing from 4pm. Mark Walker will performing some iconic jazz songs from 5.15pm. There will also be the chance to get involved in “crowdaoke” and sing along to some iconic British hits.
To keep the children entertained, Romford BID has arranged for balloon modellers to create magical balloon characters for children to take home and enjoy plus face painters will be available to transform kids into their favourite character. There will also be a walkabout magician creating magnificent magical tricks and Echo Dance Studios will be performing unique dances from 2pm.
People can also pre-book a VIP Afternoon Tea experience at the event, which will be served between 11am – 3pm outside Tollgate House. At the tea there will be a selection of quintessential British delicacies including fruit scones, victoria sponge cake, bakewell tarts, profiteroles and a vast selection of sandwiches.
